I’ve been making art for so long and don’t think I’ll ever stop!
As someone who is also really interested in the sciences, it made sense to become an illustrator for The Abstract…. Science and art can’t exist without each other!
While I mainly make digital art, that’s mostly for convenience!
Brianna Fasoli
The Abstract Illustrator (2026)
U1 Agricultural & Environmental Sciences; Environmental Biology; specialty in Wildlife Biology
I’m a graduate of a three year technical degree at Vanier College called Environmental and Wildlife Management. In this program they often encouraged the intersection between biology and more artistic pursuits. Now I enjoy documenting nature in journals and illustrations, across many different mediums including watercolour paintings and digital art.
Now as a McGill student, I’m excited to use the lessons I’ve learned and the confidence I’ve gained in my more science based illustrations as an illustrator at The Abstract. Though I’m still unsure of all the places my career may lead, I’m sure of my passion for science and communicating that science to the world and working with The Abstract will be the perfect place to explore that.
Linnea Chassort-Duchamp
The Abstract Illustrator (2026)
U2 Microbiology and Immunology major; minor in Neuroscience
I’m an artist who primarily enjoys sketching and using markers in my work. As I complete my science degree, art has been an important creative outlet for unwinding and staying creative.
I joined The Abstract to be part of a community that explores the connection between art and science.

Hi! I’m in my second year of studying wildlife biology, which I adore and am extremely passionate about. I have always found that an understand things best when I’m able to get my hands in it, and one of my favorite ways of doing that has always been to create. I hope to sculpt, paint, sketch, and collage my way through the world until I understand as much of it as possible.

I’ve always loved art, anything from quick pen or pencil sketches to 3d media like ceramics. I’m hoping to get more into different kinds of printing, photography, and multimedia collages, and I’m excited to keep creating pieces that weave together the visual arts and science.
