Managing Editor: Kiarah Geertsema
Senior and Managing Editor, Head of Journalism
Kiarah is a U2 Neuroscience Major in the Neural Physiology/Neural Computation stream. She is interested in languages, linguistics, neural and general physiology, genomics, and (of course) literature and science communication. Kiarah was the primary editor for “Neural Complexity and Prognosis: Predicting Recovery in Pediatric Epilepsy Using EEG Markers” in MSURJ’s 20th issue and enjoys the duality of being an editor for both a popular science blog and a scientific journal!
Miachesca Gangemi
MSURJ Journalism Editor, Visual Media Coordinator

Mia is an anatomy and cell biology major, minoring in environmental science. She hopes to attend PA school after university. In her free time she loves being outside and playing and listening to music.

Catherine is in the Interdepartmental Honours in Immunology (IHI) program, with a double major in English lit. She loves all things molecular biology related, and outside of class, you can likely find her working in the lab!

Alina is currently a psychology major, minoring in neuroscience and interdisciplinary life sciences. She hopes to transfer to the neuroscience program and research how we can change synapse and receptor behavior in the brain to help people live their best life. If she’s not writing or reading her textbooks, she’s probably at Cafรฉ Bloc or chorus rehearsal.
